Who Am I?
My name is Aleem Afzal. As a child, I was so afraid people that I wouldn't let myself smile in class! That's how much I cared about what other people thought of me.
I lacked personality and charisma. I had a monotone voice. I was a mess! And I hated being this way.
I committed to becoming a people person and developing social confidence. Over the next 10 years, I cold approached thousands of strangers to cure my lack of confidence and fear of people.
Little did I know, the people skills I developed helped me find jobs and advance in my tech career. I found mentors, business partners, clients, and hot dates ;-)
My transformation was so profound that I wanted to share my knowledge with others.
I packaged my experience and wisdom and developed the Networking Edge framework for making powerful connections to advance professionally.

Do I have to be a technology professional to benefit from this?
A lot of the examples and strategies I provide are targeted towards tech professionals. However, the principles I teach are applicable to any industry. So even if you are not a tech professional, you will still benefit from the teachings.I’m shy and afraid to talk to people. Will this work for me?
You know what's funny, this is exactly how I was when I first began my networking journey. Getting over my fear of talking to strangers was the hardest thing in my life to overcome. Although there were many factors that helped me overcome this fear, it really came down to two things: a willingness to learn and never giving up. If you can do these two things for me, I believe you can overcome this fear too!What happens if I get no results?
In my experience, there are only two reasons that people don't get results: (1) they don't apply the teachings or (2) they are not consistent enough, practicing everyday. If you don't think you will do these two things, then this book is not for you. Otherwise, I guarantee you will get results
